Creative Writing: Short Fiction and Poetry

I’m new to this.

After having long-considered myself a strictly non-fiction writer (but long-admired and enjoyed the craft of a really great book, story, or poem that hit just in the right spot), I decided to try my own hand at it.

In my short fiction, I shoot for a kind of defeated magical realism, Karen Russell-style. I’m not sure if it’s something that I’ve achieved, but I’m slowly but surely working on that fiction muscle!

In my poetry, I basically want to be the lovechild of Ellen Baas and Maggie Smith.

(Note: I’m still trying to figure out how to make posts only to specific pages here on WordPress. I will have this sorted out — and hopefully this page filled with work samples! — shortly. In the meantime, thank you for your patience! 🙂

In the meantime, if you would like to contribute to my fiction-writing efforts and read the full scope of what I’ve written in that area, you can do so on my Patreon page.)
